We are seeking a skilled and experienced Reliability Engineer to join our team at Copper Refineries. As a key member of our Maintenance Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operations.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise to support the maintenance and operation of our refinery. This will involve coordinating and completing vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, UT and other condition monitoring techniques. You will also be responsible for managing contractors for third-party crane, pressure equipment and other statutory inspections.

In addition, you will conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures, provide timely reports and expert advice to key stakeholders on suitable courses of action and monitoring implementation plans. You will also develop diagnostic tools to predict equipment failures and minimize the impact on production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordination and completion of vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, UT and other condition monitoring techniques
  • Managing contractors for third-party crane, pressure equipment and other statutory inspections
  • Conducting root cause analysis on equipment failures
  • Providing timely reports and expert advice to key stakeholders
  • Developing diagnostic tools to predict equipment failures

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in mining, heavy industries or petro-chemical plants
  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or tertiary education in Asset Management/Reliability
  • Previous experience in condition monitoring and lubrication
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • C Class Driver's License
  • Minimum VCAT1 certification (preferable)
  • Previous use of safety and risk assessment tools such as Job Hazard Analysis and Take 5's etc
