Strategic Leadership Opportunity

The role of Academic Strategy and Operations Director is pivotal in providing high-level advice to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

This leadership position involves leading a team that enables the delivery of key institutional priorities across learning, teaching, and student experience.

Strengthening governance, compliance, and strategic frameworks will ensure alignment with regulatory standards and sector best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as principal advisor on strategic, regulatory, financial, and operational matters to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
  • Coordinate academic and corporate governance activities, including preparation of high-level papers for peak committees.
  • Develop portfolio planning and performance reporting frameworks, ensuring continuous improvement in evaluation activities and delivery of the Education Plan.
  • Oversee contingent funding sources, ensuring strong governance, financial management, and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of providing strategic and operational advice to senior leaders within a regulated sector.
  • Deep understanding of governance and regulatory requirements, ideally within higher education, with knowledge of TEQSA highly regarded.
  • Ability to lead the coordination and delivery of complex strategies, programs, and governance processes.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience in overseeing budgets, resource management, and contingent funding.
