We are seeking a proactive tax professional to fill this critical role. The successful candidate will work closely with our senior team to prepare direct tax compliance obligations and advisory needs for our Australian businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of accurate income tax returns, quarterly and financial year tax effect accounting calculation and reporting for allocated business units.
- Provide practical and timely tax advice on a range of issues, including income tax, indirect tax, and international tax.
- Assist with the management of ATO and state revenue authority reviews, audits, and disputes.
- Support broader tax initiatives and other ad hoc tax projects as required.
Requirements:
- A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- Proven experience in a large chartered accounting firm or in a large corporate in-house tax function.
- Prior exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and tax advisory assignments, including tax research.
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills.
- GST, transfer pricing, and international tax knowledge and experience would be beneficial.
- Demonstrated evidence of strong technical proficiency within Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and a hands-on team player.
