About this role


We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Drafting Expert to join our team at Holcim, the world's leading sustainable building materials company.


This is an exciting opportunity to work on delivering high-quality engineering drawings for precast concrete elements using AutoCAD software.


The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering detailed engineering shop drawings for precast reinforced concrete elements, ensuring accuracy and timely completion within set deadlines.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Leading drafting projects and overseeing drafting standards to ensure efficient workflow and timely responses to project requirements.
  • Managing priorities and timelines for multiple projects to minimize project bottlenecks and resolve issues swiftly.
  • Collaborating with internal engineers, factory staff, and external stakeholders to address project needs and communicate progress effectively.
  • Mentoring junior drafting staff in improving their skills and maintaining high standards for timeliness and responsiveness.
  • Reviewing work and processes regularly to drive improvements in turnaround time while maintaining quality.
  • Ensuring clear communication and responsiveness to queries to minimize project delays.

About you


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Qualifications equivalent to an Advanced Diploma from a Technical College or tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD and other software as required for this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor more junior drafters in drafting standards and CAD software.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet competing deadlines.
