About the opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Humes Technical Services this is an exciting role in which you will deliver Civil/Structural Engineering Design work for precast concrete structures.

This role is integral to manufacturing, product and project work undertaken by Humes throughout Australia.

Detailed responsibilities are found in the PD which is available upon request and will include:

  • Preparing structural designs in accordance with the relevant Authority or Australian Standards, using recognised design principles and methods.
  • Carrying out independent engineering design and drafting checks on internally prepared drawings.
  • Ensuring all designs are prepared to meet all of the Technical Services Quality System requirements with the understanding that designs are subjected to contract review, verification and traceability.
  • Providing technical advice to internal and external customers based on product knowledge and suitability to intended application.
  • Maintaining awareness of amendments to relevant Authority specifications and Australian Standards.

 About you:

  • Degree qualifications to enable Corporate Membership of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
  • Previous experience in similar design roles ideally with exposure to concrete, or from relevant work within engineering consultancies.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet competing deadlines.
  • Google Platform, Microsoft Office, SpaceGass.
  • Strand7 (desirable but not essential).
  • AutoCAD (desirable but not essential).
