About This Role

The Gym Activities Coordinator plays a pivotal part in fostering a positive and healthy community by offering diverse sporting, recreational, gym education, life skills and leisure activities.

This entails planning, managing and conducting structured and progressive gym and sport programs and activities for groups, as well as developing relationships within the community to encourage participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct needs assessments and design specific programs based on group needs
  • Develop and oversee schedules for physical activities programs
  • Ensure activities are meaningful and engaging, promoting detainee participation
  • Conduct regular maintenance audits and ensure plans are developed and maintained for all gyms and equipment used
  • Identify, coordinate and promote life skills for detainees
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities conducted
  • Manage Individual Allowance Programs (IAP) and record attendance

Beyond Requirements:

  • Hold current HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates with at least 6 months currency on the certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Australian Driver's License
