Program Coordinator Position

This is a casual role requiring the coordination and delivery of structured programs and activities for individuals in immigration detention. The program coordinator will be responsible for developing, managing, and delivering these programs to ensure that they are meaningful and enhance the mental health and wellbeing of participants.


The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate III or Diploma level qualification in an associated discipline, such as social/community work or learning and development. They will also have extensive experience in therapeutic interventions and program delivery for adults or families.


A key aspect of this role is the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, including those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and different religious backgrounds. The program coordinator must be able to maintain accurate records, manage resources, and identify and rectify contractual non-compliance.


To succeed in this position, you will need to have:


  1. A minimum of 2 years' experience managing and conducting structured programs and activities;
  2. Experience working with people from CALD backgrounds;
  3. Understanding of risk management principles;
  4. Maintain current Australian Federal Police Clearance;
  5. Hold HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates;
  6. Unrestricted current Drivers Licence.
