Technical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to lead and manage cutting-edge research initiatives in collaboration with industry and government.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to drive impactful technology-focused research and development within our Defence portfolio.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior academics and defence experts to oversee the development and execution of multidisciplinary research programs.

About the Role

The Technical Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing research initiatives, developing project plans and timelines
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve research outcomes
  • Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners and government agencies

Requirements

To be suitable for this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in modelling and simulation, test and evaluation technologies
  • A strong background in system integration and rapid prototyping
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and draft research proposals, interpret funding guidelines, and advise on compliance and eligibility requirements

Qualifications

A postgraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is essential.
