Defence Research Officer

We are seeking a skilled Defence Research Officer to join our research team, working on high-impact projects in defence materials and structures.
The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative partnership between RMIT and the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), through the Centre for Advanced Defence Structures and Materials Experimentation (CADSME).
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, set up and conduct static and dynamic tests, at the small-scale and full-scale level;
- Conduct pre-and post-test analysis using a range of scientific tools and techniques;
- Prepare technical reports, contribute to publications, and support the communication of research findings through journals and conferences;
- Provide support and guidance for junior staff as skills and experience develop.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience in mechanical testing and analysis is highly desirable.
