About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Occupational Therapist to take on a Senior Paediatric Rehab Case Manager role in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing and establishing the current rehab needs of children and adolescents.

  • You will work collaboratively with families, children/adolescents, and treating medical teams to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Support and guide families in establishing their child's rehab needs and timing for different services throughout the rehab continuum.
  • In collaboration with families and children, facilitate the development of clear person-centred rehab and life goals, and formulate rehabilitation plans for approval by the funding source.
  • Develop high-quality formalised report writing, service requests, and service costing throughout the rehab program as appropriate to the insurance scheme.
  • Act as the key contact for all rehab-related matters, including treatment, rehab, care, and return to school/study for clients and their families.
  • Ongoing monitoring of progress, reporting, and identification of barriers to recovery throughout the rehab continuum.

About You:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy with AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, and families
  • Understanding of traumatic brain injury and its effects on children/adolescents
  • Experience working with children/adolescents who have suffered traumatic injuries or have complex disabilities
  • Knowledge of the Compulsory Third Party (CTP) and Lifetime Care and Support scheme, and a willingness to be an Approved Case Manager (Lifetime Care and Support)
  • Demonstrated ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus complex negotiation skills
  • Current unrestricted driver's license
  • Eligible to work permanently in Australia
