Job Summary

Fortive is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting duties, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll journals, expenses, accruals, prepayments, and consolidation elimination. Ensure monthly results are reported accurately and on a timely basis.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts by gathering and analyzing financial data from various departments.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, SOX regulations, and company policies by monitoring and enforcing internal controls and procedures.
  • Taxation and Compliance: Prepare and submit monthly tax information to Fluke Corporate Tax, quarterly ABS returns, and GST/BAS & FBT returns and lodgments.
  • Accounts Payable and Shared Services: Manage accounts payable, overseeing China Shared Services.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis: Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required and participate in finance-related projects.
Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • 8+ years commercial experience in Financial Accountant roles demonstrating great progression
  • Continuous improvement mindset - a willingness to embrace change and evolve
  • Strong understanding of Australian Taxation and various accounting standards
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Familiar with ERP system, Oracle knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Show an ability to take the initiative and problem solve
  • Energetic and self-motivated
