Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Midwife to join our team at the Broken Hill Hospital. As a key member of our maternity ward, you will provide high-quality care to expectant mothers and their babies, working collaboratively with a close-knit team of midwives, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide antenatal, labour, and postnatal care to patients, including routine check-ups, monitoring, and interventions as needed
  • Work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality patient care, prioritizing the needs of patients and their families
  • Collaborate with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
  • Participate in on-call shifts to provide intrapartum care and support to patients and staff
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge, with the ability to apply evidence-based practice and critical thinking to patient care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to collaboration and mutual respect
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and education to maintain competence and enhance skills
