Technician for Electrical Equipment Maintenance

At our organization, we are looking for a skilled professional to fill the role of Brownfields Technician. This position is part of our Instrumentation and Electrical Team.

The successful candidate will provide technical support for the commissioning and ongoing maintenance of electrical and instrument equipment. The following key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a high level of focus on safety and the environment;
  • Providing technical assistance for maintenance activities;
  • Assisting the maintenance team in meeting overall objectives;
  • Active participation in permit to work systems (SCOW) and job safety analyses (JSAs);
  • Hands-on testing, commissioning, and maintenance of various electrical/instrument equipment (EEHA).

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A QLD electrical trade license;
  • Experience in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical and instrument equipment in hazardous areas;
  • Experience with working within permit to work systems, including isolations in gas field sites;
  • Experience in interpreting electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and P&IDs;
  • A sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices;
  • Experience with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably SAP;
  • Ideal experience in testing & commissioning of LV electrical systems; High voltage experience is preferred;
  • A Certificate III Instrumentation and Control or Certificate IV Instrumentation and Control, with relevant experience;
  • Desirable EEHA qualification and experience.
