Electrical Systems Technician Job Description

Maintenance of electrical equipment is crucial for optimal operation and minimizing downtime. This role requires the ability to perform scheduled preventative maintenance, respond promptly to breakdowns, and diagnose electrical faults.

Main Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular checks on electrical equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Respond quickly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
  • Electrical Fault Diagnosis: Use technical expertise to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, implementing timely repairs to prevent further damage.
  • New Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment during capital projects.
  • Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of work completed, including parts used, to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and electrical regulations at all times.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for improvements in equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
Requirements
  • A trade-qualified electrician with a strong background in electromechanical machinery maintenance.
  • An open manual car license.
  • At least 5 years of experience maintaining complex electromechanical systems.
  • Previous experience in food industry maintenance, with knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards.
  • Experience with automated machinery and PLC programming.
  • Mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • A forklift license and stainless TIG welding and fabrication skills are highly desirable.
