Regulatory Strategy and Advisory Specialist

Morningstar, Inc. is seeking a specialist in the Global Regulatory Strategy and Advisory Team, Legal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising on regulatory strategy and risk, including matters associated with strategic initiatives and new business line development.
  • Consulting with Compliance on regulatory compliance responsibilities and negotiating with external parties as necessary.
  • Representing Morningstar's interests with regulatory bodies in APAC.
  • Defending regulatory actions and settling related matters involving regulated businesses.
  • Assisting with formal examinations or investigations by regulators, regulatory registrations, and written submissions in response to consultations from regulators in APAC as needed.
  • Conducting internal investigations and assisting Compliance with policy development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Law degree and qualified to practice law in Australia.
  • At least 8 years of financial services or securities law experience in Australia or another APAC jurisdiction.
  • Financial services compliance/regulatory experience is required.
  • Substantive familiarity with ASIC requirements is essential.

This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent judgement, and analytical skills. The ability to work efficiently and independently, prioritize workflow, and meet deadlines is also crucial.
