About the Facility

Lighthouse Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Nursing to join our team at a 100-bed residential aged care home in Sydney's Inner West.

The facility is committed to delivering high-quality care and has a strong focus on community engagement and partnerships.

About the Role

The Deputy Director of Nursing will report directly to the Director of Nursing and will play a key role in growing and developing the care team to maintain high clinical standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the Aged Care sector, including mentoring and educating staff.
  • Operating independently and professionally with limited supervision, while maintaining high standards of care.
  • Understanding the needs of older people, particularly those with mental and cognitive decline, and developing strategies to meet their individual needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health, Welfare, Nursing or Social Sciences.
  • Experience in Aged Care accreditation and clinical standards, dementia, and challenging behaviors.
  • Experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' clinical experience in Aged Care in Australia.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
