Leadership Position in Emergency Psychiatry

We are seeking an experienced psychiatrist to join our innovative Emergency Psychiatry Team. As a key medical leader, you will provide specialist psychiatric leadership and integrated care for mental health crises in the emergency setting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely, compassionate, and expert psychiatric care in low-stimulus environments.
  • Collaborate with emergency physicians, toxicologists, nursing, allied health, and substance-use specialists.
  • Coordinate with community services to ensure seamless care transitions.

Contribution to Service Development

Contribute to refining and evaluating the Integrated Collaborative Care Model for Emergency Psychiatry. Develop timely interventions and coordinated care pathways, assess care effectiveness, identify best practices, and drive collaborative research and governance initiatives.

Key Qualifications:

  • Fellowship of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent specialist recognition; subspecialty training in Psychiatry.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality service in psychiatry in a public hospital setting; involvement in quality improvement activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate with patients, families, and colleagues across multiple sites.
