Job Overview

This role is a fantastic opportunity to join our client as a Cyber Security Assessor, where you will play a key part in protecting Australia's national interests from foreign threats.

About the Role

The individual we are seeking will have extensive knowledge of current industry methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating information technology (IT) security assessment, monitoring, detection, and remediation tools and procedures. They will also be well-versed in cyber security and privacy principles, particularly in managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data.

The person will possess strong skills in performing risk assessments and system reviews, technical writing, including developing and editing assessment products, interpreting vulnerability scanner results to identify vulnerabilities, interfacing with customers, and preparing and delivering briefings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Developing security compliance processes and assessing effectiveness of security controls,
  • Perform security reviews and identify gaps in security architecture resulting in recommendations for inclusion in the risk management strategy
  • Participate in Risk Governance processes to provide security risk, mitigations and input on other technical risk
  • Verify that application software/network/system security postures are implemented as stated, document deviation and recommend required corrections.
Salary and Benefits

We offer an estimated salary of AU$120,000 per annum, plus benefits including 12 months + possible 2 x 12 month extensions, making this a highly competitive offer for a skilled professional.

  • Minimum NV1 requirement
  • ACT based, on-site
  • Strong skills in performing risk assessments and system reviews
  • Technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to interface with customers and prepare and deliver briefings
