About the Role

The Cyber Security Officer will be responsible for supporting the Agency's Cyber Security Operations (CSO) capability. This involves governing through providing a strong cyber security culture, identifying assets and associated security risks, protecting by implementing controls, detecting through the use of SIEM and vulnerability management cyber security events, responding to and recovering from Cyber incidents.

This role is part of the Cyber Security Team which is responsible for continuously monitoring, detecting and reporting on cyber security incidents and vulnerabilities to assess the level of threat to the agency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of the cyber security operations tool set, including SIEM platform, Vulnerability Scanning System, and Certificate management, Privileged Access Management, Multi-factor Authentication.
  • Analyse and respond to security events and alerts.
  • Undertake penetration testing.
  • Providing Cyber Security Advice to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Identification and mitigation of system vulnerabilities.
  • Produce and publish security education and awareness.
  • Assist with the development of cyber security related policies and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of the Cyber Security Strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in a cyber security discipline as well as demonstrated experience supporting a team to achieve outcomes in the cyber security field.
  • Demonstrated experience in cyber security event and incident management.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Estimated Salary: $90,199 - $101,745 per annum.
