School Social Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Social Worker to join our student support team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with students, staff, and families to create a nurturing environment where young people can thrive.

About the Role

As a School Social Worker, your primary focus will be on enhancing the well-being of our students through holistic solutions, advocacy, and coordination of services. You will manage caseloads, provide comprehensive social and behavioral support services, and collaborate with psychologists, school staff, and external service providers to support student assessment and intervention.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong, respectful relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide case management and direct support to students.
  • Advocate for students' needs and ensure they have access to necessary resources and support services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of intervention plans and contribute to the overall well-being of the school community.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in social work and inclusive education.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
  • Current registration with a relevant professional body.
  • Strong case management and organizational skills.
  • Significant experience in social work, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience working with children and adolescents with diverse needs.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Knowledge of child safety protocols and procedures.
