Job Title: Technical Architect – Cyber Security Assurance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect to join our team at the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO). As a Technical Architect, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our ICT systems and solutions. You will be responsible for analysing complex ICT systems, delivering technical security advice, and informing technical security decisions to ensure our ICT solutions are fit-for-purpose, secure by design, and aligned to ASIO's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Architecture: Govern system design ensuring conformance with industry and government security frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments against vulnerabilities and threats to determine the security controls to proactively remediate and reduce security risks and concerns.
  • Security Requirements: Conduct security requirements and control analysis of new capabilities to identify gaps and enhancements that can be included to deliver security by design.
  • Collaboration: Closely collaborate with technical specialists across ASIO and domestic and international partners to ensure the secure design and implementation of ASIO's technology ecosystem.
  • Technology Adoption: Drive the adoption of new technologies and different ways of working to ensure security requirements are at the forefront.
  • Representation: Represent IT Security on relevant governance boards/groups and ensure security outcomes are appropriately prioritised and delivered against.

Requirements:

  • Cyber Security Experience: Proven track record and professional history in cyber security engineering to deliver secure, trustworthy, sustainable, and cyber resilient ICT enabled capabilities.
  • Security Governance: Knowledge of information security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), security architecture concepts, cloud security, and DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Security: Solid understanding of AWS security architecture concepts and knowledge and experience with cloud services such as containers, CI/CD pipelines, secure code management.
  • Enterprise Systems: Experienced in the design, implementation, and/or maintenance of enterprise systems.
  • Security Awareness: Strong security awareness and risk management skills.
  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing – including effectiveness in negotiation, consultation, and representation both internally and externally.
  • Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to lead the delivery of secure outcomes in complex scenarios.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications within cyber security and/or technical specialisations (e.g. CISSP, CRISC, SABSA, etc.) are highly desirable.
