Mentor - Parent Pathways Program

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mentor to join our team in the Parent Pathways Program. As a Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting parents and carers of children under the age of six to navigate their educational and career goals.
Key Responsibilities- Connecting Participants with Resources
Connect participants with resources such as childcare, housing, financial aid, and educational resources to support their journey.
Providing Employment SupportProvide advice to participants with employment searches, resume and interview preparation, and ensure they are aware, understand, and adhere to their compliance requirements and obligations with Centrelink.
Developing Personalised Action PlansDevelop tailored action plans that address unique needs and aspirations of each participant and help participants to follow through on personalised action plans.
Facilitating Workshops and Group SessionsFacilitate workshops and group sessions to provide additional support and foster a sense of community amongst the participants.
Record Keeping and ReportingKeep accurate and up-to-date records of appointments and client communication in accordance with Parent Pathways contractual requirements.
Requirements- Experience in Mentoring or Coaching
Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, or providing support services, particularly with working parents, carers, or students.
Excellent Communication SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and build rapport and trust with diverse participants.
Computer LiteracyA high level of computer literacy and use of Microsoft Office suites and other government programs.
Cultural SensitivitySensitivity to and understanding of the diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences of participants.
Community ResourcesFamiliarity with community resources and services available to parents and carers, including childcare, housing, and financial aid.
Guidelines and FrameworksAbility to interpret various guidelines and work within frameworks.
Motivation and CommitmentHighly motivated to achieving general employment and training outcomes for participants and organisations performance and KPI goals.
CertificationA current, clear National Police Check and a current Working With Children Check (QLD Blue Card) are required.
QualificationsA certificate IV or higher in qualification, in Employment Services and/or Community Services or similar (desirable).
