About the Board of DirectorsThe Board is collectively responsible for the governance of Edinburgh Napier Students' Association, upholding its values and aligning it to the Association's charitable aims. The Board has overall responsibility for the Association's governance, including budget-setting and financial reporting, health and safety, human resources, and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Board in promoting good governance and providing effective line management to support the CEO.
- Ensure the Board is effective in its governance role, including budget-setting and financial reporting, health and safety, human resources, and legal compliance.
- Develop and implement strategies to support the Association's charitable aims and values.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Board, ensuring that all Directors are aware of their responsibilities and are equipped to carry out their duties effectively.
- Manage conflicts of interest and ensure that all Directors are aware of their obligations in this regard.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strategic focus and governance understanding.
- Leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading a Board or similar governance body.
- Time to support and develop a committed Board.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the Board, the CEO, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions.
