Job Overview:

The Medical Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely analysis of laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various laboratory investigations and tests, including manual and automated procedures, to provide high-quality diagnostic support.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and perform quality control checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team objectives and deliver results within specified timeframes.
  • Utilize initiative, problem-solving, and analytical skills to resolve complex issues and improve laboratory processes.
  • Adhere to quality management principles and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in a 24/7 shift roster to meet operational needs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution, with relevant subjects in pathology or medical laboratory operations.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services, utilizing Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
