Job Description

The position of Senior Finance Officer involves providing specialist taxation advice to a team. This role requires preparing and submitting various tax returns, conducting research and analysis on complex taxation issues, and implementing effective solutions.

  • Prepare and submit Fringe Benefits Tax returns, Goods and Services Tax and Business Activity Statements, Payroll tax returns, PAYG no ABN withholding, and reconcile and manage tax related general ledger accounts.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and investigation into complex taxation and financial management issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports using applications such as Excel, Word, Access or other financial management software.
  • Provide accurate, timely advice on operational issues, financial management policies, standards, and systems.
  • Maintain and update procedures and work instructions.
  • Contribute to the capability of team members to sustain performance and meet current and future demands through teaching, coaching, teamwork, and information sharing.
  • Act as a subject matter expert by contributing to the development and continuous improvement of systems and processes to enhance service delivery and improve operations.
  • Develop and maintain positive, constructive relationships with clients, auditors, other stakeholders, and management.
