Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the General Ledger, ensuring accurate financial records and performing reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end processes and maintain accounting standards.
  • Contribute to financial reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare workpapers, journal entries, and reconciliations for key accounts with a focus on merchant revenue, strategic partnerships, loan accounting, and capital markets.
  • Implement and monitor revenue recognition policies to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Work closely with the finance team to forecast revenue trends and report on revenue streams.
  • Ensure that all revenue recognition entries are properly accounted for and documented.
  • Maintain a high standard of work product in support of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance, with a particular focus on revenue recognition practices and their alignment with US GAAP standards.
  • Perform flow analysis on accounts, with particular focus on revenue streams.
  • Provide key support to the Strategic Finance group in interpreting the financial impact of revenue recognition practices.
  • Collaborate regularly with adjacent sub-teams such as Accounting Operations (AP/AR) and Financial Reporting.
  • Contribute to reporting, analysis, and process improvements, particularly in the area of revenue recognition.
  • Contribute to the creation of process documentation, particularly related to revenue recognition policies and procedures.
  • Work within the General Ledger (GL) team to improve processes related to revenue recognition and reporting.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of professional experience with a strong focus on revenue recognition practices.
  • A basic, yet comprehensive, understanding of US GAAP, particularly in-depth knowledge of revenue recognition guidance.
  • Familiarity with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, particularly as they relate to financial reporting and compliance.
  • Strong process orientation and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills coupled with a solid accounting background, particularly in revenue recognition.
  • Effective and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Knowledge of Netsuite and SQL systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial software that supports revenue recognition and reporting is highly desirable.
