
Urban Land Strategist

The Town Planner will perform thorough investigations into proposed developments, conducting site visits and obtaining statutory approvals. They will oversee land access, planning assessments, exemptions, stakeholder engagement, and resolutions.
Main responsibilities include preparing and submitting development approval processes, identifying and analyzing development issues, and managing collaborative solutions.
The successful candidate will also assist with compliance, post-approval conditions, and planning requirements in construction and operational project phases.
Key to success is fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, promoting a client-centric approach.
They will lead, inspire, and mentor junior team members, actively participating in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of compliance and regulations related to the role.
About You
To be successful, you will have 5+ years of practical planning experience with a tertiary qualification in Urban Planning or a related discipline.
You will have sound knowledge of the NSW planning system and approval processing, as well as relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Prior experience working with Councils and state officers/agencies is essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You will be able to demonstrate exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work across several projects simultaneously.
A well-developed strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skillset is required, including the ability to read and understand construction drawings.
Mentoring skills and membership of the Planning Institute (or equivalent) are desirable, as is an active Driver's Licence.
