About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Brisbane, Australia team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering teams in the Civil Construction space, enabling Trimble Earthworks and other products to work on construction machines locally.
  • Collaborate with local support and sales teams in QLD to define regional needs.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time across Australia, documenting mechanical systems, producing technical documentation, and performing design verification and mechanical qualification testing.
  • Optimize mechanical structures through FEA simulation and complete production release of new product design for product introduction.
  • Participate in corrective action plans for mechanical systems, provide technical support and consultation as required, and research and analyze data to determine feasibility of design or application.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable professional experience as a mechanical engineer relevant to your level.
  • 3D CAD modeling package experience, ProEngineer/Creo preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a global team.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and Google Workspace apps.
  • Reasonable fitness and manual dexterity to work in a machine test environment.
  • Ability to self-learn and work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, Wifi, and Serial communication protocols.

Location: This role can be based either remotely from home in the Brisbane area or from our office. Frequent travel across Australia will be required.
