Allocator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Allocator to join our Merchandise Planning team based at our support office in Hawthorn, Melbourne.

Working closely with our Planners and Visual Merchandisers, our allocators are critical in ensuring the effective distribution of inventory to deliver successful outcomes across our stores. This role requires a fine balancing act to carefully allocate inventory to maximise return on investment within the controls of store layout, warehousing, and logistics.

  • Establish and maintain accurate store stock levels.
  • Profile stores to optimise allocations based on sales, size, gridding, and demographics.
  • Establish initial store allocations for new ranges ensuring that in-store dates are achieved and distributions are generated efficiently.
  • Review and analyse weekly sales information to identify and address changes if required.
  • Manage the stock distribution process.
  • Process markdowns, promotions, and consolidations and communicate these to stores.
  • Support the Merchandise Planning Team as required.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have previous experience in retail, excellent numerical skills, an analytical mindset, and/or has recently graduated and is driven to build their career within Retail Merchandise Planning.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite – Intermediate Excel.
  • Strong numerical skills and an ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Previous allocations experience (not essential).
