The role of the Cyber Engagement & Uplift Officer is to support our cybersecurity function by leading user engagement, training, communications, and knowledge management activities. This position aligns with the Australian Public Service Cyber Security Classification Framework, focusing on stakeholder engagement, secure operations management, and driving behavioural change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver cyber-related initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, onboarding resources, and internal communications.
  • Create and update SOPs, guidance notes, and knowledge articles for both cyber teams and end users.
  • Coordinate cyber awareness programs, staff briefings, and targeted training sessions.
  • Engage with business units to identify communication needs and support tool/process adoption.
  • Translate technical content into clear, accessible, and actionable materials.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and cross-team coordination to uplift cyber literacy.
  • Maintain documentation, delivery trackers, and internal records to ensure consistency and auditability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently within a defined accountability framework.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and user engagement strategies.
  • Experience in developing instructional content and facilitating training.
  • Familiarity with PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight compliance requirements.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Cybersecurity, Communications, IT, Business) or equivalent qualification.
