Clinical Education Specialist for Undergraduate Occupational Therapy Students

The Occupational Therapy Student Clinical Educator will drive excellence in undergraduate student clinical education, teaching and training. The ideal candidate is an occupational therapy clinical expert and leader passionate about occupational therapy student education.
This role involves fostering the operational and strategic oversight of the undergraduate occupational therapy student clinical education program across a healthcare setting. It will involve close collaboration and communication with a wide range of stakeholders, including partnerships with tertiary providers.
- Develop and implement innovative clinical education/teaching programs to enhance evidence-based practice and organisational outcomes.
- Plan, develop and implement programs supporting the competence, capability and capacity of occupational therapy students.
- Work effectively in a team environment and possess highly developed interpersonal communication, liaison and negotiating skills.
- Lead professional supervision/development and performance management discussions with undergraduate, professional and postgraduate levels, and provide coaching, mentoring and peer support.
Qualifications Required:
- Occupational therapy qualification (with at least 10 years' experience in clinical, education and/or leadership roles).
- Post graduate studies in a relevant field, or working towards the same.
- Registration with the relevant health practitioners agency.
- Current driver's license (unrestricted).
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Applied knowledge of multi-modal design, implementation and evaluation of education models.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and implement clinical education/teaching programs.
- Strong understanding of the student placement process.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Well-developed leadership skills, including the ability to undertake professional supervision/development and performance management discussions.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience in the development of e-learning packages/modules.
- Experience in leading change initiatives and/or project management.
