Automation Technician Position

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to fill this challenging role.

About the Role:

  • Ensure consistent plant operation through enhancements in automation, maintenance efficiency, and unplanned downtime reduction.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose machinery and plant systems for emergency repairs and conduct preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Maintain mill machinery and computer-controlled systems used within our plant facilities to maximise productivity.
  • Provide on-site solutions to any production issues that arise.
  • Work collaboratively with the maintenance and engineering teams to achieve common goals.
  • Oversee plant automation and process control systems.
  • Improve workforce productivity by eliminating potential delays through technical support and fault finding of automated mechanical issues.
  • Manage resource allocation and cost control of maintenance budgets.
  • Advise on capital automation projects and sustaining capital works initiatives.
  • Perform hands-on automation and fitting maintenance work as required.

About You:

  • A strong safety mindset is essential with safety principles top of mind every day.
  • Automation skills or experience are desirable.
  • PLC fault finding & SCADA knowledge are highly valued.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and P&ID's is crucial.
