Job Opportunity

The Field Officer plays a pivotal role in overseeing field centre infrastructure and facilities for the conservation and sustainable use of natural and cultural resources.

About the Position

Based at the Derwent Field Centre, you will be responsible for managing 90 diverse reserves, each with unique characteristics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out operational plans, works programs, and projects to maintain field centre infrastructure and facilities.
  • Manage diverse reserves, including nature reserves, marine protected areas, historic sites, and co-manage Mt Wellington.
  • Undertake a wide range of tasks, including firefighting, managing wildlife, and maintaining visitor assets.

Requirements

  • A Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience in the use of plant and equipment and/or building construction and maintenance, and associated licences or certificates.
  • Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management or an equivalent qualification relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken.
