Job Opportunity

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Management Specialist to join our team. As an integral member of the Emergency Management unit, you will provide high-level administrative and planning support, document control, and perform comprehensive plan reviews.

 

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain robust and innovative plans, procedures, systems, and templates to support integrated emergency management capability and capacity.

 

Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement effective emergency management plans and procedures.
- Conducting complex document and records management and version control in a systematic and organized manner.
- Working with the Emergency Management Coordinator and other key stakeholders on various projects and funding opportunities to introduce measurable improvements before, during, and after emergencies.
- Providing accurate, efficient, and effective planning support for emergency management, and working closely with the MEMO and MRM teams when an emergency occurs.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of website content, crisisworks, and requirements to share planning information through various channels.
- Performing research projects, interpreting legislation and relevant information to assist the Coordinator in making informed decisions as required.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

- An Advance Diploma in Public Safety (Emergency Management) or equivalent experience relevant to the key responsibilities.
- Knowledge in Emergency Management within the local government context would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of the Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws relevant to the position.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively drive tasks and projects to achieve key milestones.
- Past experience in reviewing or assisting to develop plans and procedures.
- Ability and willingness to embrace innovative technologies, methods, products, and processes in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
