Director of User Experience Design

The Director of User Experience Design will be a key member of the Life Sciences division at Clarivate Analytics, responsible for leading the development of user-centered design solutions for web-based applications.

This role requires a strong understanding of user experience design principles, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality design solutions.

About the Role

  • Lead the UX design team to develop user-centered design solutions for web-based applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define UX strategies aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Develop and maintain UX design guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across products and platforms.
  • Communicate UX design strategies, recommendations, and findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage budget allocations and resource planning for UX design projects, including staffing, tools, and external vendors if necessary.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in UX design, with progressively increasing responsibilities and leadership roles.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, User Experience Design, or a related area.
  • Proficiency in UX design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar, as well as a strong understanding of design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business goals and user needs into effective UX design strategies and solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing leadership, architectural direction, and mentorship to the UX design team.
  • Collaborating with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define UX strategies aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Developing and maintaining UX design guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across products and platforms.
  • Communicating UX design strategies, recommendations, and findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Managing budget allocations and resource planning for UX design projects, including staffing, tools, and external vendors if necessary.

Management Responsibility

  • Lead and direct the activities of teams across a function or department.
  • Define and communicate strategic initiatives at the department-level and provide input on strategic initiatives for the organization.
  • Lead and direct the work of a functional area to achieve objectives with significant contribution towards the achievement of short-term and mid-term results for the team, department, and organization.
  • Create and drive a clear vision for the department, planning for the long-term success of the organization.
  • Influence diverse stakeholder groups and drive acceptance of policies, practices, and procedures within broader area of responsibility.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time permanent position with normal working hours.
