Paint and Roto Artist Job Description

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team as paint and roto artists. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating high-quality paintwork and rotoscoping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality paintwork and roto, including complex rig removal, tracking marker removal, and cosmetic fixes.
  • Deliver accurate rotoscoping with motion blur matching.
  • Maintain and improve production workflows, reducing time spent on repetitive tasks.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced team members.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with Silhouette or Nuke setups.
  • Review and QC work for internal and external delivery.
  • Contribute to creative and technical conversations.
  • Manage workload effectively and advise leads of obstacles affecting delivery quality or timeliness.
  • Promote a collaborative and enjoyable workplace.

Requirements:

  1. 3+ years of experience creating high-end paint and roto for live-action feature films.
  2. Strong knowledge of Silhouette and Nuke.
  3. Excellent attention to detail and self-assessment skills.
  4. Expert organisational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Working knowledge of the VFX pipeline and post-production process.

Nice to Have:

  1. Visual Effects, Fine Art, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics tertiary qualification.
