About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and physically fit individual to join our Life Sciences team as a Horticulture Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut suitable leaf fodder from our plantations to sustain our koala and tree kangaroo populations.
  • Assist in feeding our koala population and general animal husbandry duties.
  • Perform general maintenance of our leaf plantations, including planting, fertilising, watering, and slashing.

Requirements:

  • Possess a high level of energy and physical fitness to perform physically demanding work.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in a bushland environment and in all weather conditions.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Hold a current Apply First Aid qualification.
  • Hold a current QLD Manual Drivers Licence and ability in 4-wheel drive operation.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar environment, such as farming, nursery, grounds, or basic plantation maintenance.
  • Tertiary qualifications in any of the sciences, particularly horticulture.
