About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team at Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns. As a key member of our hotel's leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results and support the hotel's goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies to drive business results and support the hotel's goals
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Hotel General Manager and Executive Committee on HR-related matters
  • Lead and manage the HR function, including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee relations, payroll, colleague engagement, and industrial relations
  • Oversee the implementation of HR policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with senior managers to ensure sustained compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Communicate directly with Shangri-La Corporate Office to ensure completion of statistical reporting on all aspects of the Human Resources function
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of employee and industrial relations
  • Previous experience in a senior human resources management role, with International Chain Hotel experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and related software applications
  • Ability to manage the Company's internal HRIS systems / Learning Management System (LMS) and online database
