Melbourne Tunnel Project Community Liaison Officer

CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project in Melbourne.
The project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne's busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden, Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.
About the RoleWe are seeking an exceptional customer service professional to join our team as the HQ Community Engagement Officer for the Metro Tunnel Project. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in delivering public infrastructure while working within a high-performing project team.
In this role, you will provide higher-level technical knowledge in relation to tunnel and stations works packages and escalate issues within Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP) as required. You will also deliver accurate and high-quality project information to members of the public while maintaining a welcoming and professional manner.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with the HQ team and broader project team. Additionally, you will assist the HQ team in delivering the Metro Tunnel's Community and Schools education program, planning assistance, and presenting to groups of people.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to use professional judgment and theoretical knowledge to achieve agreed outcomes in moderately complex work situations. They will also have a natural curiosity and confidence to engage with a variety of individuals.
