Job Title: Splunk Engineer
Job Description:The successful candidate will join our organization as a mid-level engineer and take on the role of managing, expanding, upgrading, automating, and improving performance and sustainability for our huge Splunk environment. The right person will be responsible for driving implementation using the Lean-Agile methodology.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage Splunk system architecture, data analytics, performance management, automation, and administration for deployments across the enterprise.
- Develop and maintain automation tools for CI/CD workflows using Terraform, OpenShift, Bitbucket, and other tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation tools into the software development lifecycle.
- Design and implement automation frameworks and processes to optimize software testing and deployment.
- Work with infrastructure teams to ensure automation tools are integrated with the appropriate infrastructure components.
- Identify and address technical issues with automation tools and processes.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation tools and processes.
- Expert-level Splunk Architect/Engineer experience.
- Well-versed with search head and indexer clustering topology.
- Hands-on shell scripting and Linux/Windows system administration experience.
- Some expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, and/or Windows scripts.
- Thorough knowledge of regular expressions.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and tenaciousness to drive vendors, system admins, and others to deliver solutions together.
- Creative individual with a track record of working on and implementing innovative technology solutions.
- Experience with deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, BladeLogic, and/or AutoSys.
- Experience working in a secure, multi-data center environment.
- Experience with other monitoring tools.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline.
