Senior Splunk Engineer

This is a 12-month contract (with the potential to extend to 18) located in Charlotte, NC. The position offers a hybrid schedule with onsite work on day one. This opportunity provides a pay rate of $60/hr W2 - rates do not include benefits or PTO.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and expand existing Splunk deployments across the enterprise.
  • Develop automation tools for CI/CD workflows using Terraform, OpenShift, Bitbucket, and other tools.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation tools into the software development lifecycle.
  • Design and implement automation frameworks and processes to optimize software testing and deployment.
  • Work with infrastructure teams to ensure automation tools are integrated with the appropriate infrastructure components.
Requirements:
  1. Expert-level Splunk Architect/Engineer experience of at least 5 years.
  2. Well-versed with search head and indexer clustering topology.
  3. Hands-on shell scripting and Linux/Windows system administration experience.
  4. Some expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, and/or Windows scripts.
  5. Thorough knowledge of regular expressions.
  6. Strong debugging and analytical skills.
  7. Good communication skills and tenaciousness to drive vendors, system admins, and others to deliver solutions together.
  8. Creative individual with a track record of working on and implementing innovative technology solutions.

Key qualifications include:

  • Experience with deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, BladeLogic, and/or AutoSys.
  • Experience working in a secure, multi-data center environment.
  • Experience with other monitoring tools.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline.
