About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Specimen Technician to join our team at The Aushealth Hospital Research Fund Ltd. As a Specimen Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of drug and alcohol testing in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform workplace drugs of abuse testing for breath alcohol, oral fluid, urine and/or hair
  • Maintain the chain of custody of specimens and accurate records of all on-site visits
  • Organise the transportation of specimens to laboratories after collection as required
Requirements
  • Experience and training in the health sector, handling biological specimens and/or workplace safety
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clearly defined processes
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to operate technology effectively, such as tablets and testing equipment
  • Ability to work in a timely manner and meet deadlines
