About the Role: This is an unpaid internship opportunity that will provide valuable hands-on experience in youth and disability services.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking a motivated student to assist with participant engagement, program delivery, and administrative tasks under supervision of experienced staff.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for inputting and quality auditing existing databases and client files.
  • They must ensure adherence to NDIS-specific procedures and policies.
  • Responsibilities also include supervising NDIS Team Meetings and assisting with group and one-on-one sessions.
  • The intern will build capacity to achieve goals and provide feedback on accomplishments.
  • They will utilize the Youth Options NDIS Practice Framework to support learning.
  • The successful applicant will inspire students to create projects, provide feedback, and help problem-solve.
  • They will model appropriate behavior standards and build positive relationships with students.
  • The role involves assisting in experiential-based student programs such as cooking, music, or workshops.
About You:
  • A Working with Children Check is required.
  • A Disability Services Employment Screening Check or NDIS Worker Check is mandatory.
  • Applicants must be willing to undertake Reporting Abuse and Neglect in an Educational Care setting training prior to employment.
  • A South Australian 'C' Class drivers' licence is preferred.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft applications is essential.
  • Candidates must demonstrate ability to build positive working relationships and engage with young people and NDIS participants.
  • Adaptability in a busy learning environment and ability to manage time effectively is required.
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn are necessary qualities.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and working independently are key aspects of this role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting young people's engagement with learning and employment are highly valued.
