We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to lead our culinary team at Bupa South Morang. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, including those with dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Lead a team of catering assistants to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the kitchen and dining services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and quality standards, including HACCP and food handling procedures.
  • Manage food purchasing, storage, and inventory to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Collaborate with the lifestyle team to plan and execute events and activities that promote social interaction and community engagement among residents.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of catering staff.
  • Monitor and report on kitchen performance, including food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a aged care or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality standards, including HACCP and food handling procedures.
