Cost Control Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cost Control Specialist to support the implementation of project-specific cost control and reporting procedures. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis, and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and report trends to the project management team, providing timely and accurate cost and schedule impact assessments.
- Develop and implement project requirements for cost control, ensuring compliance with Bechtel's trend process and subcontractor requirements.
- Assist in the analysis of change-related initiatives and work planning, requiring detailed change assessment and response planning efforts.
- Support the overall trend program schedule and facilitate trend focus meetings with all disciplines to achieve a successful trend program.
- Prepare and analyze cost estimates, comparing scope, quantities, and cost data between projects, and perform productivity analysis of construction operations.
- Develop innovative techniques to meet specific needs, utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
- Responsible for trend evaluations, verifying consistency with previous reports and issuing reports required by management and project procedures.
- Monitor project development, flagging deviations from budget, and preparing and evaluating trends.
- Assist in developing unit job-hour and pricing data for specific disciplines or specialties, performing data analysis, identifying problems, and making recommendations.
To be successful in this role, you will require a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
You will also need to possess knowledge of estimating methods, processes, and procedures, as well as experience in quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and cost and price analysis.
Additionally, you will need to be skilled in understanding and implementing technical discipline processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial reports.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and complex graphs, is also required.
Knowledge of Bechtel's internal estimating software, BETK, and the ability to conform estimate details into budgets for packages is also necessary.
