Job Opportunity: Lawyer, Negligence and Redress Specialist

We are seeking a qualified lawyer to join our team as a specialist in negligence and redress. As part of our litigation counsel department, you will play a key role in providing high-quality legal advice on matters related to personal injury and property damage claims.

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a junior lawyer to advance their career and gain valuable experience as a government lawyer in the Workplace and Education Law branch.

The successful candidate will have legal knowledge of tort law and/or experience in negligence litigation claims, including duty of care and risk management, as well as some understanding of current child safety reporting.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing timely and accurate legal advice on negligence claims
  • Assisting with the provision of high-quality legal services to support the delivery of the department's strategic objectives
  • Collaborating with Principal Lawyers and Managers to develop and implement effective strategies for managing negligence claims

Requirements:

  • Legal qualifications and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tort law and/or experience in negligence litigation claims
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
