Catholic Communications Specialist Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate communications professional to join the Office of Communication team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Triage and Operational Support: Manage high volumes of tasks and support the office's operational needs, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Content Development and Management: Develop communications content for high-level campaigns and strategies, focusing on key stakeholders including senior leaders.
  • Advisory and Strategy: Provide advice and direct support to parishes, agencies, and offices on communications strategies and campaigns, implementing high-level communications strategies as required.
  • Content Production: Utilize intermediate knowledge of digital photography and videography for content development and post-production, coordinating communication aspects of events and promotional activities using digital platforms and social media to enhance audience engagement.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Collaborate with internal team members and external professionals to support the Office of Communications.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism.
  • Minimum five years' experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Intermediate skills in social media and newsletter systems like Mailchimp.
  • Experience using a DSLR camera for both photography and videography.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to work with individuals at varying levels of understanding and experience.
  • Self-assured and proactive, with confidence to provide expert advice.
  • Positive can-do attitude and service mindset.
  • Personal commitment to witnessing and promoting the ethos and values of the Catholic Church.
