About the Role:


At Rio Tinto, we are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management and Emergency Response Specialist to join our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team in Bell Bay, Tasmania.


This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to maintain the sustainability of the Emergency Services Team response capability and provide support, advice, and guidance to operational teams on the implementation of Health and Safety systems within the work environment.


The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and a proven track record in risk management and emergency response. They will be responsible for preparing and distributing performance reports on Health and Safety performance to the site, identifying trends and insights, and managing the Critical Risk Management (CRM) portal for Bell Bay employees and contractors.


In this role, you will also provide advice on relevant Health and Safety risks and aspects to operational teams, facilitate incident investigations, and prepare and deliver Health and Safety improvement packages. Additionally, you will coordinate the sites HSE committee, maintain the distribution of isolation hardware, and provide advice on the suitability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


As a key member of the HSE team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations and Rio Tinto standards.

  • Experience in a Work Health and Safety or related field
