Community Liaison Specialist

Job Summary:

Able Australia is seeking a Community Liaison Specialist to assist deafblind clients in accessing their community and enhancing participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify client strengths and values, develop goals, and support community involvement.
  • Work with clients to enhance communication through Auslan or other deafblind methods.
  • Provide support in everyday life and facilitate full potential.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Auslan skills (Deaf, Diploma or studying towards Diploma or CODA) are mandatory.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and documentation in a client management tool/CRM.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to write clear client case notes.
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence, reliable and registered vehicle, and car insurance.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Desirable: knowledge of Deafblind Culture and experience working in Disability and/or age care sector.
