We are seeking a compassionate and committed individual to join our team as a Disability Support Worker. As a key member of our care team, you will provide support and care to individuals with disabilities in their own homes and within the community.
The role requires a high level of empathy, understanding, and patience when working with clients. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Client Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, such as personal care and meal preparation.
- Community Involvement: Support clients to participate in community activities and outings.
- Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care.
- Certificate IV in Disability or Aged Care: A Certificate IV in Disability or Aged Care is required for this role.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check: An NDIS Worker Screening Check is required for this role.
- National Police Check: A National Police Check is required for this role.
- Working with Children Check: A Working with Children Check is required for this role.
- First Aid Certificate and CPR: A First Aid Certificate and CPR are required for this role.
- NDIS Workers Orientation (Preferred): NDIS Workers Orientation is preferred but not required.
- Eligibility to Work in Australia: Eligibility to work in Australia is required.
- Fully COVID Vaccinated: Full COVID vaccination is required.
- Current Full Driver's License: A current full driver's license is required.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role – minimum 6 months relevant experience.
- Supporting People with Disabilities: Previous experience supporting people with disabilities.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Independence and Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Prioritization and Organisation: Ability to prioritise effectively and organise own work/caseload.
- Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
